Eggcellent Easter Events in Calgary
Easter is coming and the bunny is bouncing into town. This Easter weekend, there are some egg-cellent events in town, from the classic faves to free hunts. In all cases it equals quality family time. Here is our round up of Easter activities to explore.
Easter in the CORE
This free hunt will appeal to both the younger and older set, with plastic eggs hidden around the CORE centre (in common areas, and in participating stores marked with decals on their entrances) filled with tasty treats and other prizes. When eggs are found, just bring them to the cash desk of the store or to Guest Services to redeem the prize. What an Easter treat: to get some shopping time in while keeping the kids entertained. We love that it's running from April 3-15 (a longer event run time means more spots are available). Be sure to take in some playtime at Devonian Gardens during your visit. Hop to it!

Calgary Zoo Easter Eggstravaganza
Where do little bunnies belong? In the zoo, of course. This Easter ‘eggstravaganza' is a favourite for a reason. The bunny races, cookie decorating, and face painting are only a few of the fun events to enjoy over the weekend. Be sure to take in all the animals as well (including the very cool animatronic dinosaur park which is now in its second year). It's a great way to run off all that chocolate that the kids will consume!
Perfect for the smallest set, the Butterfield Acres event includes story time and an extra special hunt. Kids will also get to do some spring planting and visit with the farmyard animals. Be sure to get tickets soon—they go fast.
Easter Egg Hunt at Mt Norquay
Take a trip to the mountains this Easter and enjoy an affordable brunch and egg hunt at Mt. Norquay. Kids can dig through the snow to find eggs, while you can enjoy an egg breakfast: it's a win-win.
Easter Egg Hunt for Dogs
Have a furry four-legged friend in the house? Consider this fun hunt specifically for dogs (and their kids) at this fundraiser in support of National Service Dogs.
Spring Sparktacular at TELUS Spark
Add some science to your spring break—the ‘Sparktacular' includes some Easter events as well, including the Egg Drop challenge, and a science-themed bunny that hops around and poses for photos.
Easter Petting Zoo at Westbrook Mall
The Butterfield Acres farm animals stop by the mall for a visit over Easter weekend making for a sweet treat for the small set. Plus, we love that you can get free photos with the Easter bunny.
Bowness Easter Eggstravaganza
Craft sale, egg hunt and more—this NW Easter event also includes a craft sale (read: fun shopping for mom!). There is also a free family skate (so come prepared!).
Easter Sunday Brunch at Heritage Park
Feel like going out for a full, big brunch? Head to Heritage Park for a full Easter breakfast at the historic Wainwright Hotel, with carving station, pancakes, eggs Benny and an omelet station. After brunch, head to the upper hotel for Easter egg decorating before checking out the rest of the park. Book your spot before the event sells out!
