Summer Day Camps We Love in Ottawa

While there is still snow on the ground and a chill in the air, parents in Ottawa are setting their sights on the summer calendar. School will end in a few months and we want to keep the kids busy on those hot, summer days. Ottawa has many summer camp options for kids of all ages. Registration has already begun for most camps and we've rounded up a few to make your search that much easier.

For the animal lover, the Ottawa Humane Society has put together camp activities for ages 6-10. Furry, four-legged friends will join your kids as they learn about working with animals, grooming, animal rescue, dog walking and more. We can see why this would be a popular choice.

There is no better way to get hands-on with art than at the Gloucester Pottery School. We love that there are camps for both younger children and teens. The week-long camp will encourage kids to get creative and make a variety of projects that they can keep.

The stage is set for a dramatic week with acting camps at Shenkman Arts Centre. Do you have a child who loves to pretend and imagines being on stage one day? This is for them. They will explore the art of story-telling, acting, singing, dancing and the world of enchanting characters. Instruction is provided by OYP Theatre School.

If you have a Sens fan in the house who also plays hockey, they can take to the ice during the Ottawa Senators Summer Camps. Boys and girls of all ages will have the opportunity to enhance their skills and focus on the fundamentals of the game. We think this camp will score points with your kids.

What we love about the camp selection in Old Ottawa South is that there are many options that are totally unique.
