Don’t miss your opportunity to watch some incredible winter athletes hit the halfpipe right here in Calgary as they compete in the FIS Freeski & Snowboard World Cup! Calgary’s brightest winter festival is back to light up Stephen Avenue for 3 nights! Slip down an ice slide, try your hand at BATL Axe Throwing, and watch carvers create mesmerizing works of art from blocks of ice. Visit the Sugar Shack for a tasty winter treat and listen to 35 musical artists as they hit one of the three outdoor stages. Enjoy the beautiful lights as you warm up by one of the fire pits on the Ave – it’s the perfect way to spend a winter evening outside!

There’s plenty to do both inside and out at the Bow Habitat Station to celebrate the long weekend! Join in the fun with free activities like snowshoeing, a magnetic ice fishing game, tic-tac-toe, a bean bag toss, trivia, a scavenger hunt, marshmallow roasting, a predator-pray game, fly-tying, casting practice and more. There will also be reduced admission ($5 + tax) to the Discovery Centre. This is the perfect weekend to get hooked on fishing.

Cross your fingers and hope for good weather! If Mother Nature permits, tons of outdoor fun awaits at Fourth Street Winterfest! The new indoor Olympic Oval at the University of Calgary is open and ready for families to hit the ice! Lace up your skates and try out the fastest ice in the world as you enjoy a playlist of music from the 70s and 80s. Don’t have your own helmet or skates? No problem – they can be rented at the Olympic Oval Skate Shop. When you’re done skating, sip hot chocolate, and snap a picture with mascots from The Costume Shoppe. Don’t forget to check out the photo booth and try your hand at giant games for the whole family. This event (including the parking) is totally free, but donations to Kids Cancer Care are graciously accepted.

Participants are invited to register one original LEGO creation of any theme (up to a maximum size of 2 feet by 2 feet). Winners will be announced at 11:30. Whether you’re competing or not, be sure to check out the LEGO Olympics, which is filled with fun-filled challenges and friendly competition. There will also be crafts, loose parts play, and visits from cosplay guests, as well as hot chocolate and marshmallow roasting (as long as weather permits!)
