If you’re looking for the perfect one-stop-shop to buy for everyone on your shopping list this season, why not visit one of Calgary’s amazing Christmas markets? Support local vendors and find unique, quality items while enjoying the spirit of the holiday and time with your family. Many markets will also have appearances from Santa Claus, and even his reindeer, as well as food trucks and all kinds of live entertainment!

Calgary Christmas Market

November 14 – December 22 on Thursdays and Sundays from 9 am to 5 pm
Calgary Farmers Market – 510 77 Avenue SE

The Calgary Farmers Market is getting into the holiday spirit! Pick up a treat or gift from one of your favourite year-round booths, or visit one of the 16 vendors selling seasonal offerings. Whether you’re looking for holiday décor, treats or gifts, you’re sure to find everything on your list at the Calgary Farmers Market. Keep your eyes peeled for Santa and his Reindeer, sip some tea with Mrs. Claus, and enjoy some cookie decorating in between shopping! As always, parking and admission are free.

Light Up Okotoks Market

November 15 from 5:30 – 9:00 pm
58 Elizabeth Street, Okotoks AB

The town of Okotoks is kicking off the festive season with the official lighting of their Community Christmas Tree at 7:00. There will be all kinds of fun events to attend in addition to the Christmas Markets, located in the Elks Lodge (between 4 and 9 pm) and the Spirit of Christmas Artisan Market at the Okotoks Art Gallery & Museum (between 5 and 9 pm). Along Elizabeth Street, there will be maple toffee on a stick and free glow sticks. At the Okotoks Art Gallery and Museum don’t miss photos with Santa, hot chocolate and crafts, and a gingerbread station. There will also be horse-drawn wagon rides, fire pits, food trucks, a photo booth and late night shopping until 9 pm. The night finishes off with fireworks from Lineham park at 9 pm. A variety of charities will be supported through this event, including the food bank, the Salvation Army, Heaven Can Wait, and other local charities. Visit the link to see how you can help!

Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market

November 15-17, 22-24, and 29-December 1

The ever-magical Spruce Meadows International Christmas Market features over 300 vendors located in various indoor venues across the grounds. Visit Santa’s reindeer in Reindeer Alley, warm up by a bonfire, take in the sparkling Christmas lights, and enjoy a huge range of festive entertainment from all kinds of performers, singing, dancing, fiddling, and more. Help yourself to a tasty treat and beverage while wandering throughout the fun and festive atmosphere and get all of your Christmas shopping done in one place! Admission can be purchased at the gate for $12, or in advance for $10. Most parking is free, unless you’d like a spot up close via Tournament Lane, for $10 a carload.

Little Modern Market

November 23 from 9:30 am – 3:30 pm

Little Modern Market is back again with the holiday edition of its popular market. Find great offerings and gifts for kids and babies, super cute clothing and accessories for grownups, home décor, paper crafts, art, jewelry and more. Almost 100 vendors are waiting for you at Rally Pointe. Entry for patrons 14 and over is $5, and parking is free.

Noel Christmas Light Park and Market

November 28 – December 31
1410 Olympic Way SE

Get ready for a one-of-a-kind market experience at Calgary’s only indoor light park and Christmas Market at the Nutrien Centre. Explore almost one million dazzling lights in 4 themed light parks and a 250-foot interactive light tunnel before visiting Santa, Mrs. Claus and their elves in Santa’s village. Grab a bite to eat at one of the food trucks, sip a craft beer or enjoy some spirits, and then get your shopping underway at the artisan market. Parking at the Stampede Grounds is $15, so you may want to consider taking the Ctrain or public transit, both of which have stops at the Stampede Grounds. Kids 5 and under are free, and admission rates vary based on age and whether you plan to attend on a weekday or the weekend (adult passes during the week are $19.99 and on the weekend they’re $21.99). Family passes can be purchased for 2 adults and 3 children starting at $59.99.

Calgary Make It Holiday Market

November 29 – December 1
Northland Village – 5111 Northland Drive NW

Visit some of your favourite makers at one of Canada’s most popular and well-attended craft fairs. There’s something to be found for everyone on your list, from little to big. Yummy gourmet goodies, clothing and gear for babies and kids, art, accessories, home décor and more are all up for grabs at this market in the Do What U Love Space at Northland Village. Tickets are $6 at the door for anyone over 12 (kids under 12 are free). You can also grab your early bird ticket online for $3!

Calgary Expo Holiday Market

November 30 at 10:00 am
BMO Centre Hall B – 20 Roundup Way SW

If you’re in search of a holiday market that include cosplay, collectibles, graphic novels, limited edition sketches and more, look no further! The Calgary Expo Holiday Market has tons of amazing niche goods for sale including comics, anime, gaming, science fiction, and horror swag. There’s also an “Artist Alley” where you can meet the talented pencilers, inkers and writers who create some of your favourite comics and graphic novels. Meet Santa and get your photo taken, have fun dressing up in costume and marvel at the characters and heroes walking among the booths. Hang out with your fellow cosplay fans and vote on your favourite dressed up Christmas tree. Tickets are available at the door only for $10 for adults. Kids 12 and under are free. Parking at the Stampede grounds is $15.

Granary Road Christmas Market

Every weekend in December from 9:30 am – 5:30 pm

Granary Road has tons of fun in store at their market this year. Over 40 unique vendors will be on site in addition to the 20 permanent Granary Road shops, offering all kinds of goodies from culinary merchandise to Christmas-themed items and everything in between. If you’re looking for a totally unique family photo op, they’ve got alpaca Christmas photos available for $10 (yep, you read that right!) Just make sure to book your spot online before you arrive. Santa is also offering hour and a half long kids’ workshops for $15 which include Christmas crafts, hot chocolate, tractor rides, a petting zoo, and even a magic reindeer food making class! Spots for Santa’s workshop classes must also be booked ahead of time.

The Saskatoon Farm Christmas Market

December 7-8 and 14-15 between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm

The Saskatoon Market presents its 3rd annual Christmas Market, with over 240 local vendors selling vintage, handmade and locally sourced goods. Enjoy the festive atmosphere, filled with twinkling lights, carollers, live music and entertainment, while sipping hot chocolate, apple cider and mulled wine and munching on tasty treats. Don’t forget to enter to win door prizes and enjoy some of the yummy samples being offered! Parking and admission to this event are free.

Market Collective

December 6-8, 13-15 and 20-22 from 4:00 – 9:00 on Friday and 10:00 – 6:00 on Saturday and Sunday

There’s something for everyone at Market Collective! Whether your list has ceramics, skincare, textiles, clothing, home décor, or jewelry on it, over 150 makers at this market have got something you’re sure to love. There are also booths for kid and baby gear, leatherwork, paper goods, woodworking, and visual arts, as well as vintage and consignment treasures and photography. Visit food trucks like the Empanada Queen, Perogy Boyz, Sabores Mexican Cuisine and more, and grab a hot coffee from Rosso Coffee Roasters before wandering through the huge variety of booths. Check out carnival games like ring toss, take in a movie at the dome theatre, visit a silversmith workshops or pottery workshops for kids, and keep your eyes peeled for the booth where you can have your misfortunes read. Kids under 12 are free, and admission for everyone else is $6 for the weekend. There are designated visitor lots around the BMO Centre.
