We have been thrilled with the response to our Toy Testing Panel. Please continue to check back as we may be looking for more families in the near future. In the meantime, here’s what our testers had to say about this month’s toys:

Fisher Price Hero World™ Rescue Heroes® Fire Truck with Billy Blazes™Toy Reviewed: Fisher Price Hero World™ Rescue Heroes® Fire Truck with Billy Blazes™
We were excited to receive our Rescue Heroes® Fire Truck with Billy Blazes. As we opened this toy, I was impressed to find out that almost all the packaging was recyclable and wouldn’t be filling up my garbage bin. My 3 year old son was more interested in getting his hands on the bright red fire truck. It was pretty easy to put together, thank goodness, because he was jumping up and down in excitement. His eyes just got big when he figured out that there are water bombs that can be loaded and fired from the back of the truck—and he loves doing that! I was a bit nervous at first that he might get hurt by a flying projectile but it’s safe as long as he keeps his face away when loading and firing—I would recommend parental supervision for the 3 year old crowd until they get used to it. If I had one criticism it was that the stickers look like they might fall off in the near future. My son likes driving the truck around, playing the siren and launching the water bombs—overall this toy has been a big hit in our home!”

“My 9 month old daughter loves playing with her Fisher-Price Activity Table. Not only is there an abundance of activities and songs for her to discover but the structure itself allows her to practice standing on her own! This is by far one of the best toys she has for learning both physically and developmentally while having fun!”

Fisher-Price Little People® Animal Sounds FarmToy Reviewed: Fisher-Price Little People® Animal Sounds Farm
We would like to thank you for this wonderful opportunity you have given to us and our son to play!! His first reaction to the Fisher Price box was for us to “OPEN!!” as he tapped it excitedly. Once we unpacked it, he watched in wonder and cooed “WOW!” It was really cute!

Gavin has enjoyed the farm and all the animals immensely! He opens and closes the doors to hear the sounds of the animals. He has discovered new places for the animals to go—into the top opening of the grain elevator and ‘peek-a-boo’ as it drops down to the bottom, he pushes the haybale on the top so that the animals fall out on either side of the barn. All of this is accompanied by squeals of laughter!

The size of the animals are perfect for his little hands. He can grip them very easily, yet see what they are. The sounds are just loud enough and not ear piercing. Often times we tape up the speaker area with gauze and tape to muffle the sound, but this one was good! There are such a variety of discoveries in this playset that can keep him coming back over and over. It’s great!

Overall, we all enjoyed the playtime with the farm and are very happy with the fun we’ll continue to have with it!

“My family was asked to review the Fisher Price Fun with Friends Musical Table. My son is 11 1/2 months old and has just learned to stand and loved standing at the table and pushing all the buttons. I liked that there was a good variety of music and learning. It never got boring or repetitive and I was able to engage my son by changing the setting. At first I thought it was too loud, but then my husband found the volume switch, which I was happy to see. Other than finding the toy incredibly hard to take out of the box, I have no complaints about the toy. Overall we are very pleased with the toy.”

“I’d like to begin by giving you a little history on my son. He is a 2 year old with a mild to moderate hearing loss and wears hearing aids. We’ve been working on associating animal names and sounds with pictures of the animals for at least a year now with no success.

The day we received Little People® Animal Sounds Farm he started playing with it and would not stop. The next morning he went straight to his new “animals” and started playing with them before breakfast. By that afternoon, my little one picked up the sheep and showing it to me said “baa baa”.

I found this toy to be very entertaining as I watched my son think of very creative ways to play with the barn and animal.

In summary, I was quite please with the Little People® Animal Sounds Farm, it promotes creativity and early listening and association skills. I also like that the barn is one piece and I can store the animals in the silo which keeps everything together. My only critical comment would be that every animal has a well marked stall (with sound) to go into except for the goat. There is no sticker for where to put the goat. I realize that the children don’t care about this but I found this troubled my highly regimented mind. It just made me feel like someone just threw in the goat as an afterthought. I also really like the ruggedness of this construction and the durability of the animals as I can see this toy being used for a long time.

I would recommend this toy to everyone with a young child.”

Fisher-Price Go Baby Go™ Stride-to-Ride™ DinoToy Reviewed: Fisher-Price Go Baby Go™ Stride-to-Ride™ Dino
“First of all thank you so much for allowing me to be on the toy testing panel. It was quite a thrill to be selected and what a beautifully constructed toy it was with a very friendly face and smooth features all round.

Now—toy review—well, for my daughter Scarlett, I’d have to say, the toy was rather intimidating at first. That is the only way I could describe it. She really wouldn’t go near it in the first few days. When we pushed the buttons for her she really liked the music and would smile and dance, but the pounding footsteps and “roar” made her make a serious face. When the toy arrived, I’d say she was still a little shake-y on her feet and therefore the ease of movement of the toy wasn’t enough support for her. In the last few days of this past week she will voluntarily explore the toy. She enjoys pushing the buttons and once I show her how to hold it while standing, she will stand there and take a tentative step. I find it better if I slow the toy down and make extra smiles and encouraging faces myself for the pounding feet sound and “roar”. I would see her using the toy more and more and once she is truly comfortable on her feet it will become one of her “go to” toys.”
