As Calgarians get one step closer to spring, there are tons of activities both inside and outdoors to help you enjoy the last month of winter (we hope!). Whether you’re looking to sing, dance, play or explore, there’s no shortage of fun things to do with your family in Calgary this March.

Kidz Bop World Tour

March 6 at 7 pm

The Kidz Bop crew is returning to Canada for 9 more live concerts and is making a stop in Calgary. This kids’ cover band is sure to get everyone’s feet tapping to the beat (if they’re not out of their chair dancing along!)

Fred Penner

March 10 at 6 pm
Jack Singer Concert Hall – 225 8 Ave SE

Fred Penner is a Canadian kid music icon and is making a visit to the Jack Singer Concert Hall to celebrate the 40th anniversary of his classic record, The Cat Came Back. Kids and parents alike will love singing along to other much-loved Fred Penner hits that span 4 decades.

Dive-In Movie at Village Square Leisure Centre

March 13 from 6 – 8 pm

Get your bathing suit and your water wings! Village Square Leisure Centre will be hosting Frozen 2 as part of their ever-popular dive-in movie event! Regular pool rates apply.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban at the Jubilee

If you’re looking for a truly magical way to spend an evening, you won’t want to miss joining the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra as they play the score live along with a screening of the third film in the Harry Potter franchise – Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Dads, grandpas, uncles and grownup brothers are invited to come hang out with their kiddos at this activity-filled morning brought to you by the YW Parent Link Centre. This event takes place one Saturday per month and features games, crafts, activities, stories and snacks. Enrollment is required, so visit the link to secure a spot.

Winter Bird Fun at Inglewood Bird Sanctuary

March 14 from 10 am – 12 pm
Inglewood Bird Sanctuary – 2425 9 Avenue SE

What’s a bird’s favourite type of event? One that’s “cheep”! If your family loves to spend time with their feathered friends, this free event at the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary includes a guided hike, followed by bird-themed crafts and games. All events take place outside, so be sure to dress for the weather. The event is for Nature Kids member families, but families who haven’t yet enrolled in the program are welcome to attend one event before joining. E-mail [email protected] by March 10th to register.

Dive-In Movie at Southland Leisure Centre (Jumanji)

If your kids are looking for a fun way to spend the March 20th PD Day, the South Health Campus Wellness Centre has a boot camp that’ll get them cooking up a storm! Kids will learn how to prepare from scratch recipes and snacks made from healthy ingredients, fostering important skills they can take back home with them when they’re done!

Masters of Illusion

Eau Claire’s Night Markets are back for another year! Live, local entertainment, mouth-watering cultural street food, and tons of different vendors will be on-site to celebrate the coming of spring.

Mini Pop Kids Live!

For another opportunity to check out a popular kid-fronted cover band, Mini Pop Kids will be live at the Jubilee performing hits by artists like Ariana Grande, Shawn Mendes, Taylor Swift, and more. Mini Pop Kids is Canada’s best-selling kids’ music group, and their shows are selling out quickly!

Calgary Baby and Tot Show

The Calgary Baby and Tot Show brings all things parenting together under one roof. Peppa Pig Live!

Finally – a chance to see Peppa Pig live to determine what she really looks like from the front! Your kids won’t be thinking about this, but they will be thrilled to get a chance to see their favourite British piggy as she’s joined by her brother George, Pedro Pony, Suzy Sheep and Gerald Giraffe on an adventure-filled camping trip in the woods.
