Parents in Ottawa with older children may remember Gymboree Play and Music, a play centre where many of us brought our kids a few years ago for some play-based learning, skill development, and fun. The kids adored Gymboree for time it offered them to tumble, roll, play, create and sing, and for us, it was an amazing way to meet other mums with young kids and get in some much-needed social time, too.
Which is why we were psyched to hear that as of June 25, Gymboree is back, baby.
Gymboree Play and Music is opening a new location in Orléans. The classes are designed for children ages 5 and under, with parents being an important part of the curriculum. Together, along with Gymboree teachers, children are introduced to music and movement, art and creativity, physical sports, activities and more. The play area is a welcoming way for families to get moving—at their own pace. In addition to classes for kids, there are special events for families to attend too, like meet-ups for moms. And forget having to plan a messy, complicated birthday party at home, Gymboree Play and Music can host you and your tiny guests for some birthday fun.
Gymboree is celebrating their 40th year in operation and with locations all over the world they are marking the occasion with their National Day of Play on June 25. As the new local location officially opens their doors in Ottawa on that day, families are invited out for an Open House with prizes, a teacher meet-and-greet, and chance to learn more about the classes on offer.
We love that Gymboree has a big focus on play-based learning and that it offers kids the freedom to explore, learn and make new friends. And, thanks to parent-focused activities, it will be a fantastic way for parents (especially new ones) to meet.
