The SavvyMom 12 Days of December Photo Challenge
If you recall, last December we ran the SavvyMom December photo-a-day challenge. We created a list of holiday-inspired prompt words’one for each day of the month’and asked you to share your digital images on Instagram, tagging your pictures with our hashtag so that we could keep up with what our readers were making, baking, eating, and celebrating throughout the month of December.
We had so much fun following along with all of you last year that we’ve decided to bring it back again this year. Only this time, instead of 31 days of photo prompts, we’re going to keep things simple doing a ’12 Days of December photo challenge,’ running from December 1st-12th. AND this year, we’re going to have a prize. We’re giving away three signed copies of Homegrown: Celebrating the Canadian Foods We Grow, Raise and Produce by Mairlyn Smith. Participating is simple: use the daily prompt words to inspire a photo for sharing on Instagram. Tag your pictures with our handle (@savvymomdotca) and the hashtag we’ve created (#SM12DaysofDecember) and you’ll be entered for a chance to win one of the three signed copies. Each hashtagged photo counts as an entry, so post away! Note that you can only win once, though. Full contest rules here.
Don’t worry if you can’t upload a photo every day. Join in the fun whenever it suits your schedule, as each photo will make you eligible for our prize. Also, if you aren’t on Instagram, you can still use this list of words as a holiday photo checklist to make sure you capture some of the small, but significant, moments of the holiday season.
The prompt words are posted below, but we’ll also share them on our Instagram account on December 1st. If you’re going to follow along, I might suggest taking a screen shot of the photo that day and keeping it on your phone’s camera roll so you can easily refer back to it if you forget what the words are.
