Thankfully Fun

It’s the first holiday long weekend since school started, and we’re thankful for the opportunity to find and plan fun activities for everyone—all weekend long…so we’re here to the rescue with a few ideas for getting out and about with the kids this weekend that might just put you in a festive mood, too. (No thanks necessary.)
Start the weekend with a trip to one of the many great country pumpkin patches and farms the lower mainland has to offer. A couple of our faves include Richmond Country Farms, and Laity Pumpkin Patch in Maple Ridge. Every pumpkin patch has its own unique atmosphere, but most offer costumed entertainers, hay rides, a corn maze, and a small animal farm, and, most importantly, the kids can wander through the fields to pick their own pumpkins for Hallowe’en. With the hot, dry summer we have had, the pumpkins are already ripening quickly, which means you will want to get yours early this year! When you go, you’ll definitely want to bring cash because not all pumpkin patches take credit or debit.
