What to Watch

As if getting the kids to bed during the school year isn’t hard enough. The summer, with its late sunsets and enticing warm weather, makes maintaining bedtime almost impossible! Don’t fight the night; dedicate one evening a week to these family outdoor adventures.
Turn a midsummer night’s dream into reality by taking in the Shakespearean play, A Winter’s Tale at the Dream in High Park. This west-end outdoor theatre is surrounded by free parking. If you decide to take the ‘better way’, it’s a quick walk south of the High Park subway station. Operated by Canadian Stage, Dream in High Park raises the curtain every Tuesday to Sunday at 8 pm through September 4. With their pay-what-you-can policy ($20 is suggested), Canadian Stage asks little in return for an outstanding performance. For an earlier production, visit the stage every Sunday from 5 to 6:30 pm, when the program offers free backstage tours, the opportunity to meet cast members and workshops for all ages.
