Where to Get a Delicious Take-Home Valentine’s Day Dinner

Valentine Dinner Ottawa

Valentine’s Day is quickly approaching, and many parents in Ottawa are looking for new ways to celebrate the day, either after the kids go to bed, or as a family.

Even though we’ll be home for Valentine’s Day this year, and dinner reservations at your favourite restaurant might not be possible, there are still ways to celebrate together at home and enjoy delicious bites. Restaurants across the City of Ottawa have developed take out meals for Valentine’s Day. From multi-course packages to many a la carte options, you’ll be able to create a restaurant-worthy experience at home. Your tiny loves can get involved too (but we aren’t judging if you prefer to wait until they are in bed to enjoy a quiet meal together!)

Pick up and delivery dates are listed on their websites. Note: some need to be picked up in advance of the 14th.

Here are some places you can order take away Valentine’s Day dinners in Ottawa:

Pelican Grill

Seafood lovers won’t want to miss their chance to indulge in this four-course meal from Pelican Grill. Start off with a shrimp cocktail, followed by a creamy lobster bisque, then get cracking with your full lobster and garlic butter (although the rice pilaf is nothing to ignore) and finish with a crème brulee.

OCCO Kitchen

OCCO has a couple of options depending on what you are in the mood for. Choose their hot and ready dinner for two (salmon, beef or tacos) or order the assemble and heat at home meal kits (the mushroom gnocchi is sure to please). You can add an appetizer or drinks and we love the meal selections for the kids which come with a monster cookie as a treat!

ALE Ottawa

Both of the four-course menu options from ALE has us ready to light candles and set the mood, and we love that one menu is vegan. If you prefer to change things up and not have a traditional dinner, maybe you want to try a romantic (and even kid-friendly) Cupid’s take-out tea with a selection of tea, sandwiches, and sweet treats.

Epicuria

For many years, Epicuria has been providing Valentine’s Day take out menus, with the option to add on a meal for the kids and this year doesn’t disappoint. Choose the three-course dinner for two or order your favourite dishes separately. We know the kids will love their chocolate cake for dessert.

Take Another Bite

This dinner for two is filled with choices for each course, including options for vegetarians. Customize the perfect evening meal and order it for delivery or take out. You may want to add on a bakery box filled with brownies or other treats while you are at it to really let your family know how much you love them.

Thyme and Again

We love that Thyme and Again not only has a variety of offers for Valentine’s Day (including a heart-shaped pizza for the kids) but they are also preparing dinners for four (although you’ll want to add a dessert!) Their beef tenderloin meal for example reminds us of cozy Sunday night dinners.

Curated by Beckta

We love the three-course dinners from Curated by Beckta which can be picked up or delivered to your door (making it even easier for busy parents to plan). You can opt to order the dinner separately or receive the dinner for two along with two selected wines.

Two Six Ate

The entire menu from Two Six Ate looks drool-worthy and we love the many dishes included (there’s a full vegan menu as well). Shrimp cocktail, wedge salad, and beef are on one menu just to give you an idea, and veggie pate, wedge salad, and gnocchi on the vegan menu (along with other delicious plates). Add on a charcuterie board and bubbly if you like!
