The Eatery
The Eatery, on Broadway, just east of Alma, is a quirky, funky sushi restaurant that's been around since the early 1980s. Kids will love the fun signs, electronic music and cartoon menu. The sushi roll names (and the food itself) are fun too. They have everything from the ‘Miss Piggy' roll (bacon, scallops, asparagus, roe and unagi sauce) to the ‘Found Nemo' roll (crab, asparagus, avocado and seared salmon). Come hungry!

Minami in Yaletown—hands down—has some of the best sushi in Vancouver. Don't be fooled by their chic interior—this restaurant is totally kid-friendly. There are always plenty of kiddos here. (They have a sushi-themed colouring page and a secret kids menu!) Don't feel left out grown-ups…they also have an extensive sake and cocktail list.

Miku, right by Canada Place, overlooking the ocean and mountains, is another restaurant with very high quality sushi. Miku, like Minami, specializes in ‘aburi' sear-flaming sushi (sit up or stand by the sushi bar for a few minutes to get a peek at the chefs searing the sushi with a blowtorch). This is pretty exciting for adults, never mind the kids.

Sushi Ville at Commercial/5th is a vibrant, bustling restaurant with plenty of families. For just an extra couple bucks you can ‘upsize' your sushi rolls to a ‘giant' roll. Hitoe Sushi in Kitsilano is one of the top-rated sushi restaurants in Vancouver. It's easy to see why: the food is fresh and the staff is friendly.
