For aspiring chefs ages eight and up, Nourish Cooking School on West 10th offers some of the best kids cooking classes in Vancouver. They offer interesting (and delicious!) classes while teaching kids about healthy, sustainable food. Little ones can learn the art of dumplings, sushi or French bistro. And, for older kids, why not join a class with mom or dad?

Collage Collage’s Programs
Have your youngsters harness that creative energy into Collage Collage's unique set of classes. Their outstanding programs will have your kiddos experimenting with everything from mixed media to sewing and sculptures. Registered classes are 8-weeks long, or you can also test out a drop-in class. Tip: if you have a budding author, check out the Write + Illustrate/All About Books class. Students learn about the essentials of plot, visual storytelling, how to develop their characters, as well as discovering how to make their own.

VPL’s ‘Maker Girls’
In August and September, the Britannia Branch of the Vancouver Public Library is offering ‘Maker Girls'—a workshop for girls interested in engineering and science who are starting grades 7 to 10 this fall. The workshop will include hands on experiments, exciting demonstrations and make-and-take creations. All workshop supplies will be provided.

CirKids
CirKids, CircusWest's 36-week program (which runs from September to June), is a great way to channel your kid's energy (as young as 3 years) into creative expression. Highlights include: juggling, tumbling, jumping on a trampoline, climbing on the trapeze bar and riding a unicycle. They also run sessional classes for teens, as well as classes for you and your wee one.

TechUpKids is a non-profit organization committed to getting kids (of all ages) excited about learning code. They offer after school programs, as well as classes for home-schooled kids during the school year. The groups are small too (one instructor to five students).
