8 Best Bike Shops in Vancouver
There's no need to spin your wheels wondering where to find good bikes for the kids—we've got the savvy scoop on the best bike shops in Vancouver.
-
Simon’s Bike Shop
Located downtown on Robson Street, Simon's Bike Shop has been a Vancouver fixture for over 25 years and is owned by a local North Vancouverite, Simon Coutts, who is very committed to the sport. In addition to the great selection of kids' run bikes and gear bikes, the store is the best place in the city for kids' Razor scooters and for the BOB stroller.
-
West Point Cycles
West Point Cycles can be found on West 10th Avenue in Point Grey and has a great selection of run bikes and pedal bikes, as well as the Chariot stroller. This shop is also known as the birth place of Rocky Mountain bicycles, as it was the first dealer to carry the famous local bikes in their store.
-
Mountain Equipment Co-op
Mountain Equipment Co-op is a go-to when it comes to kids' bikes. They have a great selection of bikes at great prices that are hard to beat. You can find them on West Broadway, between Cambie and Main Street (and at the newer North Van location).
-
Bicycle Sports Pacific
With three locations (on Pacific Street in downtown Vancouver, North Vancouver and Langley), Bicycle Sports Pacific sells Trek tricycles in addition to kids' bikes. The downtown location rents bike trailers to take those family members who are too young to bike around Stanley Park. It is also a great place to go if you are in the market for a bike rack for the car.
-
Dizzy Cycles
You might feel a bit dizzy after visiting this great bike shop. They have an amazing selection of bikes for kids that could leave your head spinning when deciding which one to choose. The Dizzy Cycles store is located on 4th Avenue in Kitsilano.
-
The Bike Gallery
For quality gear and great service, go to West 10th Avenue in Point Grey Village. The Bike Gallery caters to the full gamut of kids' cycling, offering everything from run bikes to gear bikes. And rumour has it that many Canuck players get their families suited up here. So, you might get lucky and score an autograph for little Johnny while you're there.
-
Obsession: Bikes
Obsession: Bikes is on Lonsdale at First Street in North Vancouver. They offer a full line of kids' bikes but we like the buy-back program to make purchasing bikes for your ever growing child a little more economical. We also like that they recognizes that not all kids can afford a new bike, and with their Bikes for Tykes program, they recondition used bikes and then donate them to local non-profit organizations who in turn get them to the kids who need them most.
-
Different Bikes
For a big selection of kids' bikes, we recommend checking out Different Bikes. With the convenience of three locations (North Vancouver, West Vancouver and Vancouver, on Broadway near Granville), we're sure you'll find one close to you with just what your child is looking for.
