The Hunt Starts Now!
Moms know the thrill is in the hunt, and Easter morning is the perfect illustration of that. Kids everywhere dash out of their rooms, baskets in hand, searching for chocolate treats. According to a recent survey, one in four Canadian parents think the window ledge is a great hiding spot. That's right. So we're making this year's hunt more challenging for everyone with tips on laying the perfect Easter egg hunt.

Create the Perfect Setting
While the kids are nestled all snug in their beds (sorry, wrong holiday) make plans. Know exactly where the hunt will take place, set boundaries so hunters know where to focus their Easter efforts and always conduct your egg hunt in a safe area.
Tip: When planning an outdoor hunt, consider making bunny prints in the grass or dirt so children can see that the Easter bunny arrived.

What’s in the Hidden Treasure?
This year, think outside of the egg. Create a special reward egg (or one for each child who is on the hunt) and on a piece of paper write ‘Congratulations' or ‘You have won!' and place it inside the plastic eggs. Whoever finds the egg gets a special reward.
Tip: Be sure you know how many eggs and treats you hide so you know they have all been found—you don't want to be finding eggs at Halloween! Try out these

It’s All in the Hunt
Consider the ages of the children hunting when you are hiding eggs, treats and chocolates. For kids under three, hide eggs near ground level and out in the open. You can hide eggs in more challenging places for older kids: under furniture, behind couch cushions, on window ledges, inside potted plants, behind pictures frames and on top of books on shelves.
Tip: Make sure you don't hide the items inside fragile collectibles or in places too high for children to safely reach.
-
Give Your Hunt a Theme
To make this year's hunt even more fun, try a theme:
Hunt by Colour: Children are given a colour and hunt for their assigned coloured eggs (a great way to avoid fights!)
Flashlight Hunt: Turn off the lights or hold your hunt outside when it gets dark. Everyone uses a flashlight to try and find the eggs.
Trading Places Hunt: Kids get to hide the eggs and the parents are on the hunt!
Tip: Download these fun signs to help give your kids directions on their hunt.
