3 Gymnastics Places for Kids in Calgary
Kids are natural monkeys—climbing, rolling and jumping around are second nature. So why fight nature? Here are our fave spots to take our little monkeys for some just-for-fun tumbles.

Kyle Shewfelt Gymnastics
Created by Olympic Gymnastics Champion, Kyle Shewfelt, KS Gymnastics is unique in that it offers a wholly non-competitive experience. The focus is all on fun and fostering a love of physical activity. The programs appeal to even the tiniest tumbler and classes are co-ed. Funding support is available for eligible families, and we love that they offer free pre- and post-care for all of their camps. Test out the experience at one of their Kids' Night Out Camps on designated evenings—the three hour evening experience gives them a taste (and you a nice time-out).

The Flip Factory
Located in an unassuming brick building on a quiet Inglewood street (with parking in front), The Flip Factory is a gymnastics facility with a few added features designed purely for energy-burning fun. Take the reverse bungee for example. With the power of two little legs, a harness and four guide ropes, kids can jump 15 feet in the air. The pit filled with giant foam blocks is another hit, as are the climbing wall, ropes, rings and trampolines. The gym is run by mom entrepreneur and gymnast Darlene Traviss and is the latest venture in her 25 year athletic career.

STARS Gymnastics
Calgary STARS Gymnastics Summer Camps follow a theme each day while kids get a full circuit of the gym daily (read: regular trampoline time). Crafts, cardio games and outdoor time are also a part of the program.
