Fun Fishy Flavours

Fast family meals (dare we say fast food) are a modern day fact of life. Our healthy, fast and delicious alternative to burgers and fries is sushi and here are five good reasons why kids love this culinary adventure.
It’s fast, it’s finger food, it arrives cool, it comes with rice and most importantly, they can watch the guy with the sharp knife (wearing a dress) make them right in front of them if you get the good seat. (Sometimes they even float around on little boats. How cool is that?)

Here are four savvy recommendations for family-friendly, moderately priced, sushi restaurants.

Sushi Boat
Sushi Boat is the suburban sister to uptown sushi joint Towa Sushi. The sushi is creative and tasty. Edamame and fresh fruit are nice add-ons to the floating sushi barge for that toddler who hasn’t developed a hankering for raw fish.

Atmosphere & Service: Seating around the bar includes high stools and cozy booths.

Good To Know: The sushi comes smeared with wasabi so custom order for kids or stick to the rolls.

Kinjo Sushi & Grill
The sushi is tasty with a lot of varieties all ready to go at the bar. The red tuna and teriyaki chicken are highlights.

Atmosphere & Service: Seating around the bar includes cozy booths for four and standard stools.

Good to Know: Gregarious owner Peter Kinjo carries a pocket full of Pocky treats and makes a fun show of handing them out to all his juvenile and female guests.
