Eat Local: Family Favourites for Takeout in the Vancouver Region
With news that the restrictions on restaurants in BC will continue until at least late May, there’s never been a better time to support your local favourites. Though some restaurants will be closed for the coming weeks, many are offering pickup or takeout – and some have open-air patio dining (or impromptu parking lot picnic tables) available, too. As we all stay close to home through spring, choose one in your own local community – it’s the best choice to help everyone stay safe and also to give a boost to the businesses nearby. Here’s some of our crowd-sourced top picks from throughout the metro Vancouver region:
Vancouver

Tacos, huaraches, tortas … the list is endless at Sal Y Limon. Feeding a whole family? Check out the take-out special taco feast – all the fixings for a full meal. This East Van favourite has expanded into Surrey (and a location inside YVR airport) thanks to its incredible menu and quality food.

In the heart of Delta’s Ladner community, Il Posto offers authentic and hearty Italian meals, from pastas to pizzas and more. Take out available from the menu, as well as an Il Posto at Home weekly pickup for family sized meals.
Langley

Burnaby

There’s a reason there’s so often a line-up outside Anton’s and a packed dining room – it’s been a family favourite in north Burnaby for years. Though that dining room is closed for now, they’re still offering up their famous large servings of pastas, in dozens of flavours and combinations.

Surrey

Hand-pulled turkey, slow roasted beef and premium deli meats are all on the menu at Big Star Sandwich Co. on 104th near city hall in Surrey and close to Central Surrey mall and skytrain station.
