Cathy Pitcher, of Kanata, says if you’ve got snow, you might as well use it. She adds a few drops of food colouring to a water-filled spray bottle and sets the kids loose on the lawn. It’ll be easy to spot the savvy houses this Christmas—they’ll be the ones with red and green snowbanks.
