Do you have wannabe Simone Biles in your household? Or maybe you just want your kids to burn off a ton of energy in a safe, supervised environment? Whatever your family’s gymnastic ambitions, there’s a class out there that’s ideal for your needs.

Here are 10 of our favourite kids’ gymnastic classes located in Toronto. Note that in addition to classes, most of these companies also offer camps that run over winter, March and summer breaks, as well as on PA days.

Toronto’s West End

Okay, so technically this is a circus school and not a gymnastic studio but depending on your children’s interests, it might be the perfect place for them. Classes are available for toddler age to adulthood and cover such skills as acrobats, silks and trampoline. There’s also the Ninjability program that’s, “Perfect for kids who want to run, climb, and jump!” Cirque-ability is currently located at 213 Sterling Rd (near Bloor and Lansdowne) but will be moving to a new, to-be-announced home in the same neighbourhood in a few months’ time.

Private studios are great but don’t forget that the city offers some terrific gymnastics programming at rec centres in various neighbourhoods. Classes are available for kids as young as six and run until your children are in their teens. Different levels are also available and range from basic introductory classes to competitive programs that require advanced testing and auditioning.

Yes, the basement of the Crossways Mall does at first seem like an odd location for a gymnastic studio but the space is so bright, clean and well-padded that it soon seems like a natural fit. School owner and principal instructor, Suzie, is an always-smiling face who knows exactly how to get your child embracing their inner Nadia Comaneci. Classes are available from age nine months to 12 years with recreational and advanced streams available for school-age kids.
