With 2022 comes the return of March Break camps in Calgary. From outdoor activities to coding and crafting, there’s no shortage of great camps to keep kiddos of all ages busy this spring. Just be warned – camp spots fill up quickly, so be sure to register as soon as you’ve found the one!

In case you haven’t marked in on your calendar, spring break runs from March 19-27 for public schools (CBE) and April 15-24 for Catholic schools (CCSD).

Available March Break Camps in Calgary

Calgary Zoo | calgaryzoo.ca

Dates: March 21 – 25, 2022
Cost: $290
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Registration Closes: March 17
Ages: Marmot (Ages 10-12) (Unfortunately, camps for all other ages are already sold out!)

Spring break camp is about to get wild, thanks to the Calgary Zoo! Animal enthusiasts will learn all about wild creatures, conservation, and nature through activities, games, crafts, stories, interpretive programs, and animal visits. Before and after care can be added for an additional fee of $50 per week for each. Before care is offered from 8:00 am until 9:00 am, and after care is available from 4:00 to 5:00.

Time: Morning camp: 9 am – 12 pm and Afternoon camp: 1 pm to 4 pm
Ages: 6+

Creative kids in your crew will love spending their mornings or afternoons getting crafty at Pinnovate’s DIY studio. Depending on which camp you register for, kiddos can look forward to making creations like wooden signs, painted clay sculptures, painted wooden eggs, mixed media projects and more. Lunch is included each day, and rotates through choices such as waffles, pizza and pasta. Dietary restrictions such as gluten-free and vegan can be accommodated.

Dates: Session 1: March 21 – 25, 2022 and Session 2: April 18 – 22 (individual days available for both)
Cost: Full Week: $250 (members) or $275 (non-members). Individual Day: $55 (members) or $60 (non-members)
Time: 8:30-4:30
Ages: 5 – 12 years

If your kids are sports fanatics, you’ll definitely want to check out the camps being offered through Repsol Sport Centre this spring. Participants can look forward to spending 75 minutes of time in the pool each day, in addition to taking on challenging obstacles and learning basic skills for activities and sports, like agility, balance and coordination. There will also be offsite days where campers get to explore by bike and on foot!

Dates: Session 1: March 21 – 25, 2022 and Session 2: April 19 – 22
Cost: $50 per day
Time: 8:30-5:30
Ages: Grade 1 – 6

For kids who love to explore the world but plan to spend this spring break within YYC city limits, Trellis’ Renfrew location has the perfect March Break camps in Calgary option. The theme of the camp will be ‘Around the World’, and campers will have the opportunity to learn about life on each of the continents through play, crafts, science experiments, and more.

Time: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Ages: 8-13

Got a kid who’s fascinated by the worlds of Minecraft and Roblox? One of Code Ninjas’ two March Break camps in Calgary offerings oughta be right up their alley! The first option is a “Code Your Own Robot In Minecraft” camp that allows campers to use simple programming to automate the boring parts of Minecraft such as farming, digging so they can get to the good stuff – like creating loops and functions to code crazy things into their world, like spawning hundreds of chickens from the sky! Campers will also have the opportunity to play in a world together with their fellow campers after showing off their work.

The second camp option from Code Ninjas is called “Potential UNLOCKED: Become A Roblox Developer”. The focus of this camp is learning the basics of game building and creative development using Roblox. This camp will teach coders how to plan, design, and build their own 3D world.

Cost: $350 (15% discount available)
Time: 7:30 am – 5:30 pm
Ages: 4-12 years

Summit Spring is a camp offering on behalf of the popular Summit Kids program. There will be two dates (for CBE and CCSD campers) offered at the West Hillhurst Community Association, and one date (April 18-22) offered at their Chestermere location. Regardless of the date you register for, each camp will feature various fun, entertaining and educational activities programmed by the experts at Summit Kids.
