Parents go for the coffee. Kids go for the bacon. Moms go so they don’t have to cook the bacon in their own kitchen (and then smell it all day). Brunch really is the perfect family meal.
So we rounded up a few faves across the city (we hope there is one near you on the list).

Dr. Generosity is a favourite hangout for families in the west end of the city. Friendly service and excellent food keeps families coming back. Moms love the healthy kids menu, kids love the bowl of jelly beans at the front and a coin to play the pin ball gum machine.

Get downtown to our arts district for a funky brunch and try the Easy Restaurant at Queen and Roncesvalles. It’s kitschy in décor and famous for brunch so get there early. Moms love the healthy smoothies and kids love the “toast soldiers” (two soft boiled eggs, toast cut in strips, fruit and plastic toy soldiers hidden amongst the plate).

The unanimous fave from our savvy scouts in the Beach is the Beacher Café. This landmark restaurant is famous for their Eggs Benny with homemade hollandaise sauce. Moms love the fresh fruit served to the kids as soon as they sit down and the kids love the colouring books and crayons.

In North Toronto, the Homeway Restaurant has been a staple breakfast destination since 1948 and has re-emerged as a fave brunch spot for families since their renovation a year ago. Moms love the coffee and kids love the fries (actually, so do the moms, be careful). On a Sunday, get there before 11:00 or after 1:00 and bring crayons.

Have out of town guests? Want to do something different? The CN Tower is a fun place to go. The food at 360, the revolving resto up top, is much better than you imagine. Get a table by the window, kids love the view and moms love the free ride up the elevator when you are dining.
