Coffee Time, Play Time

What happens when you mix your sweets with your salts? Well, if you’€™re fortunate enough to live in Vancouver, you get SweetSalt Baked Goods and Playscapes. It’€™s a new family-friendly coffee house with a great play area for kids, too.
SweetSalt was started by a local German mom who loves to bake, using only local organic ingredients and creating all her tasty treats from scratch. SweetSalt brings the German tradition of kaffeeklatsch (coffee and cake) to the up-and-coming Fraser Street neighbourhood and provides moms and dads with a chance to make adult conversation while the kids play in their own space.

They serve a wide range of yummy sweet and savoury treats (think soft pretzels, freshly baked breads and sourdough buns), lunch, kid-sized snacks and hot chocolate. Seasonal specialties will be offered closer to Christmas (including highly anticipated German Christmas cookies) and we’€™ve heard that breakfast will also soon be on the menu.

So, if you’€™re looking to escape November’€™s rains with the kids, head to 19th and Fraser to enjoy the warm atmosphere of a cozy German cafe while the kids play.

If you’€™re going to Fraser anyways, be sure to check out these 7 Shops to Stop at on Fraser Street.
