Run for Kids

Moms are never too busy to give back to the community, we just need to be reminded of how we can help from time to time.
That’s why Savvymom.ca is pleased to remind you to lace up your running shoes, join the fight against childhood cancer and get ready for this years’ ChildRun in support of BC Children’s Hospital Foundation taking place Sunday, June 5, 2011.

Join more than 7000 runners and walkers in this Family Fun Run that raises funds and awareness for childhood cancer. Funds raised through ChildRun are vital to providing life-saving care and improved treatments specifically designed for kids with cancer and this year the goal is to raise $1.2 million.

You can help reach that goal, inspire your children to be philanthropic and enjoy a healthy morning outdoors all at the same time. For junior runners, the Thrifty Foods 1KM Fun Run is a great option or run the scenic 5K loop followed by a fun-filled festival, post-run entertainment and healthy food. It’s seriously family friendly.

Individuals and families can register until 8:30 am on the morning of the run.

The Deets:

  • Note there is a new location this year at West 33rd Ave and Heather St.
  • Cost to register is $25 for kids and $35 for adults until May 20
  • After May 20, $30 for kids and $40 for adults
  • 100% of your entry fee goes directly to the cause
  • Register or donate at www.childrun.com

By collecting donations and being a part of ChildRun, you are also helping researchers learn more about childhood cancer with the goal of finding a cure. Together we are making a difference by joining the fight against childhood cancer.

Spending the morning outside, doing something healthy with your kids—that’s fun. Teaching your children how to help others, that’s important.
