4 Ways to Get Organized in Ottawa
There's no time like the present to get the house in shape. Here are four easy ways to get organized.
-
Closet Clutter
Attack the clothes closets first. Rotate seasonal clothing—put the sundresses and sandals into an airtight box downstairs or under the bed, and organize the winter clothes by colour and type when it's time for them to come out—pants with pants, blouses with blouses, etc. The Canadian Diabetes Association offers a pickup service for donated clothing. Give them a call and get your old stuff out of your hair right away.
-
Kids' Clothing
Be ruthless when organizing the kids' rooms. Donate clothing they've outgrown. If by some miracle the clothes are in good shape, drop them off at the My Kids Funky Closet mega consignment sale at the Glebe Community Center.
-
Tidying the Toys
Neglected toys filling up the toy box? Steal them away and store them in the basement for a few months. If the kids don't ask for them, they're next to go. Try Boomerang Kids if you're looking for a good consignment store.
-
Organize the Art
Is the kids' artwork piling up? Try hanging some favourites by a clothesline in their bedroom or a playroom.
