MadeGood Granola Bars and Minis

MadeGood granola bars

Who among us isn’t constantly on the hunt for school-safe, peanut-free snacks? School regulations that ban tree nuts, and our own demanding schedules mean that pre-packaged snacks that are a) healthy and nutritious b) available in the grocery store and c) appealing to the kids are the holy grail of snacks—the lunchbox trifecta.

We were excited but skeptical when we had the chance to try MadeGood Granola Bars—they’re organic, made from whole grains, gluten- and nut- free, and loaded with vegetables; each bar contains a full serving of veggies. How can this even be true? And they didn’t have a veggie taste—they tasted just like the flavours on the box said: like Apple Cinnamon, Chocolate Banana, Chocolate Chip, and Mixed Berry. We were sold, but the kids? They totally loved them. We were amazed, and happy—and have no immediate plans to tell them about the vegetables hidden inside.

MadeGood also comes in cute little spherical ‘minis’ (that reminded us of energy balls)—which makes for a nice change from the granola bar shape, and works well as part of a Bento lunch.

MadeGood Bars and Minis retail for $4.99 at most stores and are available at Metro, Loblaws, Whole Foods, Sobeys, Longos, and many other stores.
