2019 Ottawa March Break Camps for Kids

March Break Classes

It’s that time of year again when you’re probably looking at March Break camp ideas to help keep the kids busy during their school break. Just in case you’ve forgotten (or haven’t even begun to think about it yet!) March break in Ottawa is from March 11th to 15th.

Luckily, there are always so many interesting and exciting options for kids in the Ottawa area. Whether they are interested in exploring the arts, learning more about cooking, or staying active with sporting events, they’ll be happy to spend their days at one of these camp locations. Many of these camps also offer before and aftercare options.

There are a variety of programs at Dovercourt for your kids to choose from. Themed camps include building with LEGO and musical theatre! Camp offerings are for ages 4-12.

Carleton University offers different sporting programs for kids aged 4-16 (so if you have older kids, this is a perfect option to keep them busy.) If they love tennis, hockey, basketball, soccer and more active and engaging sports, they’ll be sure to enjoy their days as a Raven.

If they are already mini hockey players, they will love the Ottawa Senators March Break camp which includes two and a half hours of ice time at the Sensplex.

The Ottawa Little Theatre March Break camp will have your kids involved in the production of a play and experience the thrill of being on stage as the week goes along. They’ll work on voice exercises, team building and perform when the week ends.

Your future engineer will love trying out the latest technology at the University of Ottawa Engineering March Break camp for kids in grades 2 to 6. There are different locations for these camps across the city making it easier for you to get the kids to one in your area.

Animal lovers will want to sign up for the March Break camp at the Ottawa Humane Society. The Off-Leash camp will not only teach kids (aged 6-10) about small animals, birds and reptiles, but the kids will get hands-on and learn about small animal care.

The Ottawa School of Art March Break Camp will incorporate stop motion and multimedia into the creation of your child’s work, plus there are mini tours around the gallery. This is for campers aged 8-12.

We think your kids will be bouncing home after their days at the Above the Rim Basketball March Break camp in either of their two locations (Kanata and Nepean). Kids aged 7-14 will be divided into groups by ability and practice their drills and skills.

The arts programs at The Shenkman Arts Centre during March break will encourage your kids to stay creative the entire time they are off. We think 6-8-year-olds will love travelling through time via their art by making a gladiator shield, dinosaur sculpture and space art.

Wesley Clover Park has a 5-day March Break riding camp for future equestrian riders. Campers need to arrive with the proper wardrobe and plan for daily fun as they are introduced to riding and horse care.

Tumblers Gymnastic Centre has a full day and half day camp option for campers wanting to stretch, balance, tumble and jump for their March Break.

Aspiring chefs (ages 9-12) will want to secure their place at Urban Element for a March Break Culinary School with chef Devin Marhue. Kids will learn hands-on skills and techniques to create dishes from scratch. The camp includes breakfast and lunch daily and all of the instruction and recipes that they can take home with them and show off their skills.
