2020 Ottawa March Break Camps for Kids
March Break will affect many students across the Ottawa area from March 16 until March 20. During this time, families may need a camp for the kids to fill their days, learn something new, have fun and try a new experience. Fortunately, many organizations are running March Break camps across the city so parents don’t have to worry about child care, and kids will enjoy an exciting school vacation.
We’ve gathered up some unique, interesting, and hands-on opportunities for March Break Camps in Ottawa for kids of all ages. The hardest part will be narrowing down your selection!
March Break Camps in Ottawa
Run and Play at Kids Kingdom Orleans
The popular play and daycare centre, Kids Kingdom Orleans is welcoming children to play on the structures, take part in arts and crafts, test their skills at laser tag and more fun activities during their March Break Camp. Pricing is by day, with a discount for siblings. Two snacks and lunch are provided. Visit their Facebook page for details.
Become a Spy at the Diefenbunker
At the Diefenbunker: Canada’s Cold War Museum, spies are once again being recruited for their annual March Break camp. This training is for students ages 6 to 12 years old. They’ll learn about espionage, what it takes to be a spy, decoding skills and will be asked to participate in top-secret missions! Before and after care is included and camp registration, which can be completed online, is for the week.
Learn Animal Care with the Ottawa Humane Society
Animal lovers will want to register for this very unique, hands-on camp at the Ottawa Humane Society. Students will spend the week of March Break naming adoptable cats, feeding vegetables to small animals, participating in a scavenger hunt that lasts the entire week and more! There will be games, crafts and activities too. Before and after care is available for an additional cost.
Give STEM Something to Think About at the University of Ottawa
The University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Engineering offers the opportunity for scientific discovery as participants learn through chemistry, engineering, robotics and more. Using various technology, campers (in JK to grade 6) will design, build projects to enhance their skills. On Friday of the camp, a pizza lunch will be provided. There are also off-site camps for grades 2 to 6 at various locations across Ottawa (not on the University campus).
Hit the Ice with the Ottawa Senators Camp
The Ottawa Senators March Break Camp is a popular one for mini hockey lovers, and we aren’t surprised. With locations in Ottawa’s East and West, and instruction off the ice, as well as hours of ice time for the kids, this camp will help players improve their skills and continue their love of the game. Camps are broken down by age and level.
Play Sports, Swim and Stay Healthy at the OAC
Stay fit and have some fun with a camp at the Ottawa Athletic Club. Campers will enjoy fitness classes, crafts, games, tennis and squash and maybe the best part; they’ll get to go for a daily swim! That does sound like a March Break to remember. Complimentary before and after care (during specific hours) is provided. This camp is for children ages 4 to 12.
Learn more about LEGO with the City of Ottawa and Ian Dudley
Ian Dudley has become well known around Ottawa to students and parents for his LEGO classes, especially those regarding LEGO robotics. The City of Ottawa has a LEGO robotics camp in partnership with Ian Dudley at the Nepean Sportsplex. Students will learn Technic building skills while demonstrating teamwork, diving into engineering principles and taking on challenges. This camp is for students ages 8 to 13, and we know your preteens will love it.
