The sun is out, the snow is melting, and spring is in the air in YYC! With Easter in Calgary just around the corner, visions of egg hunts and bunnies may just be hopping in your head. Whether you’re on the hunt for some traditional Easter fun or want to try something a little different, there’s plenty of egg-cellent Easter activities to check out in Calgary.

Butterfield Acres Spring Babies Festival

When: Saturday April 5–Sunday April 20
Where: Butterfield Acres Farm, 254077 Rocky Ridge Road, Calgary
Book now and celebrate spring AND Easter at Butterfield Acres with baby farm animals, pony rides, and the chance to meet the Easter Bunny.

Calgary Easter Charm Hunt

When: Friday April 11, 8pm
Where: Jack Long Park, Calgary
The Easter Charm Hunt is something a little different than your usual hunt for eggs. An outdoor exploration game where participants solve clues and discover charms hidden throughout the park.

Easter Tea at Heritage Park

When: Friday, Saturday & Sunday April 18-April 20
Where: Heritage Park, 1900 Heritage Dr SW, Calgary
What a wonderful tradition for Easter in Calgary. Easter Tea at Heritage Park features, along with your freshly brewed tea, petit finger sandwiches, buttermilk scones, and your favourite treats from the Alberta Bakery. There are four sittings daily and reservations are required. Adults 16+ are $49.95 (plus tax), children 15 and under are $24.95 (plus tax) and children two and under are free. Member adults save $10!

Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo – Easter Eggstravaganza

When: Friday April 18–Sunday April 21
Where: 210 St. George’s Drive NE, Calgary
The annual Easter Eggstravaganza at the Calgary Zoo is a total tradition for Easter in Calgary. Enjoy treat stations, Easter-themed games, photo opportunities, a candy bag decoration station, and the chance to see animals receive Easter-themed enrichment.

Legacy Community Easter Egg-Stravaganza

When: Saturday April 19, 9:30am–12pm
Where: Legacy Red Playground, Calgary
At the Legacy Community Easter Egg-Stravaganza, there are egg hunts every 15 minutes, face painting, magic shows, balloon art, crafts, and more. Note: CLCA membership required for participation.

Easter Pop-Up Market – Cochrane

When: Saturday April 19, 11am – 4pm
Where: SLS Centre (Curling Rink), Cochrane, Alberta
At the annual Cochrane Easter Pop-Up Market, shop local vendors while kids enjoy an Easter egg scavenger hunt, coloring contests, and face painting. The first 200 kids to complete the scavenger hunt receive a goodie bag.

Easter Egg Hunt at Deerfoot City

When: Saturday April 19–Sunday April 20, 11am – 3pm
Where: Deerfoot City, Calgary
You have two chances to celebrate Easter at Deerfoot City. Pick up a map at the Food Lodge and hunt for eggs across participating retailers. Collect stickers, meet the Easter Bunny, and enjoy sweet treats.

CNIB Beeping Eggs – Accessible Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday April 12, 1pm – 3pm
Where: CNIB Calgary, 10 11a St NE, Calgary
For Easter in Calgary be sure to check out the the CNIB’s Beeping Eggs. It’s an accessible egg hunt featuring beeping eggs for children with vision loss. Includes treats, games, and a petting zoo. Registration required.

Easter Hop & Hunt at Cloud Land Calgary

When: Monday April 21
Where: Cloud Land Calgary, #130 111 Sage Valley Common NW, Calgary
For all you folks with Easter Monday off, the Easter Hop & Hunt at Cloud Land Calgary is a great way to extend the holiday. A 90-minute session including an Easter egg hunt, interactive activities, and free play. Admission is $22 per child (includes two adults).

Acadia Community Association Easter Egg Hunt

When: Saturday April 19, 10am – 1pm
Where: Addison Place Playground, 8523 Addison Drive SE, Calgary
Every year, families look forward to the Acadia Community Association Easter Egg Hunt. This community egg hunt features many festive activities. Free for ACA member children; $5 for non-member children. Pre-registration required.

Marda Loop Easter Extravaganza

When: Saturday April 19

Get ready because Eggfest is back at Marda Loop. Don’t miss out on free pictures with the Easter Bunny, treats for kids, food vendors, and local artisans.

Where: Cheat Creek (snowmobile path from Cascade to Spirit)
The Easter Bunny may prefer warm weather and green grass, but that doesn’t mean he won’t hide a few eggs in the snow! Head to the Cascade Lodge at Mount Norquay before 10:00 am to register for a free Easter Egg Hunt for kids of all ages. The hunt starts at 10 am sharp, and although there will be thousands of eggs to find, you won’t want to be late!
