We know the tricks of the ‘trade,’ which is a treat when it comes to shopping for Halloween costumes. That means pullin’ out those old princess dresses, pirate hats and gently used costumes from years past and taking part in Calgary’s Second Annual National Costume Swap Day, hosted by Edamame Kids on October 13.
The Edamame Kids’ swap at the Marda Loop Communities Association Hall has close to 100 costumes to choose from in baby sizes and up (with some teen, adult and pet costumes), and more to come. If you’re planning to swap, bring your costume on the day of the event and it will be taken upon your arrival in exchange for a ticket.
Walk the kids through and pick a costume (any costume, any size) in return. If you’re stuck without an outfit to swap, don’t fret: you can purchase a costume for $15, with all proceeds going to the World Wildlife Fund Canada.
Good to Know: Full-length mirrors are available for costume try-ons, so it’s recommended you dress your kids in shirts and leggings, or similar clothing, so the costumes can slip on and off easily.
