It’s not summer just yet, but savvy moms have to start making plans to ensure we get the most out of our warm and sunny weather. (We do like to maximize the fun factor in that short window.) For the kids, we’re thinking about summer camps and there is one place we’ll look first for some fun—Atlantis Programs. It’s a Vancouver company offering swimming and biking camps to children of all ages, because who doesn’t like to swim and bike in the summer?
One of our favourite programs is their biking camp, called Pedalheads, which offers eight levels of biking skills and safety instruction to kids aged 3 to 14. Their certified instructors teach beginners and competent riders, and new this year, they have a Trikes ‘N’ Trainers (TNT) program for children aged three years and up. Bring your child’s tricycle, bike with training wheels or even push bike for an hour long, daily program on pedaling, steering, bike safety and most important: stopping and starting! Also new this year, is their Flow Mountain Biking Camps, for children 10 to 15 years of age who are already competent cyclists and looking for a little more challenge. There are locations throughout the Lower Mainland (Point Grey, Douglas Park, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey and Langley) and all camps are one week in duration. Registration for this coming summer is on now.
