Monkeying Around at the Mall

As much as we love going to the mall, sometimes toting tykes around takes the retail therapy out of shopping.

Fortunately for us, Market Mall recently revamped their indoor play area and it’s perfect for tots and tykes. Monkey Around is now a more intriguing place for restless preschoolers to blow off steam after a romp around the mall with mom.

Located next to Guest Services, the 1,800 square foot transportation-themed play space is Calgary’s biggest mall playground, and the recent revamp makes it seem even larger. By relocating the soft foam airplane, caboose engine and red racing car, the area is more open and meets C.S.A. indoor playground regulations.

One of the best upgrades is the environmentally friendly floor. Made out of recycled tires, it’s impact-absorbing and much more hygienic than carpet. Visitors (including parents) still need to wear socks. (Don’t worry if you forget, being in a mall and all, that’s easy to remedy.)

Bordered by comfy seating for caregivers who must stay with the children during their playtime, we think a visit to Monkey Around is a fantastic reward for good behavior post errands.

It’s nice to have a destination with a little therapy for everyone.
