Savvymom.ca is the ‘can’t live without’ free e-mail newsletter delivered straight to your inbox. We are mom’s secret weapon: the trusted voice for mothers who are looking for tried and tested solutions to their everyday dilemmas. You will find up-to-the-minute tips on home and family life, places to go, cool party ideas, short cuts, and tips — you know, savvy stuff — for moms like you.
Accorind to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, the definition of Savvy (‘sa-vE) is practical know-how.
SavvyMom was born out of a recognition that moms are time-crunched and often depend on referrals from friends to make their lives (and purchase decisions) easier. We aim to be that trusted voice for you, providing edited, curated and simplified information. We cut straight to the point and tell you what we think is the best solution for moms’ many to-do’s.
We offer a free, national weekly e-mail newsletter delivered straight to your inbox. We also offer savvy solutions in Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, Victoria and Toronto. Our site includes all of our past articles, as well as our up-to-date blogs. We have a weekly SavvyExpert sharing tips on a range of topics including parenting solutions, life balance solutions, and more. Our EatSavvy blog lets us share tidbits of information we’ve collected, whether it’s a new product we’ve tested (and we always test them ourselves), a great recipe or a fun tip. We also have EatSavvy, our page dedicated to a love of food where we take one ingredient each month and use it in four different recipes: the family meal, the toddler recipe, the 15 minute recipe and finally the make-ahead meal. And our site is continuing to grow so stay tuned for more exciting content.
Excellent question – and don’t forget to tell your friends that they need us too!

SavvyMom publishes three different editions which are all delivered via e-mail to your inbox. Our city editions (Toronto, Vancouver, Ottawa, Calgary and Victoria) are published on Thursday mornings, focusing on local city information and the Tuesday edition being common to all cities. Not in one of these cities? Sign up for our national edition. It’s published Tuesday morning only and everything featured is accessible online.
Definitely not. While we initially launched in Toronto and built up our subscriber base there, we have always had subscribers from across the country. Requests to provide savvy information on different cities led us to develop other city editions including Vancouver, Ottawa, Calgary and Victoria. If you like what we’re doing and want us to focus on your city next, please let us know and keep spreading the word there.
We encourage you to send our e-mails to as many of your friends as you can, so thanks for asking. However, they will need to register themselves by clicking on our sign-up button or link so we can ensure they have agreed to receive our newsletter. After all, no one likes an uninvited guest!
Not at all. We know you’re too busy to search around your inbox for a savvy tip you received a few months ago, so we’ve provided our subscribers with an archive of SavvyMom Today e-mails on our website. Search for an article by using our search feature available on every page. Just enter in your keyword and you’ll get a list of past issues that match what you are looking for.
Yes, you absolutely can. Just click on the Manage Subscription link on the bottom of any newsletter, and you will be taken to your subscriber profile. Here you can change your email address as well as the city and special editions you receive.
We want to hear it. Send us a message with a brief description of the idea and our editorial team will review it. Click here to send in your contribution.
Absolutely not. Never. Impossible. Can’t be done. We do not receive a penny from anything we write about. Not one. We are your trusted source because everything we write about we believe in and we want to share with you. Our panel of moms tests out anything we decide to feature to make sure it’s savvy. To understand more, read our Editorial Policy.
We write about the things we love, and what we find to be useful as moms. All of the products and services featured on SavvyMom Today have been tried and tested by the savvy moms we have as our writers and as our HQ staff.
Through our media partnerships – also known as advertisers. The banners, sponsored links and sponsored e-mails that you will see from time to time are all paid for by our advertisers. Rest assured that we will only partner with organizations that offer savvy products and services that we think you will want to know about.
We’re glad you asked. Please click here for more information on our media partnership opportunities.
Aside from our regular national and city newsletter editions, occasionally you will receive Sponsored Emails, which are paid for by advertisers. Always marked “From Our Sponsor”, we only send out one per week. It is our goal to work with advertisers whose products or services are helpful to moms, and you’ll see that frequently special deals and offers are provided that are exclusive to our SavvyMom readers. And rest assured that your email address is never sold or rented out by us—we send the sponsored emails to you and do not share our subscriber list with our advertisers.
No. However, from time to time our media partners may be interested in asking you some questions about their products. It is your choice to opt into this or not. No pressure.
