Cold-Brew Coffee and Tea

Cold Brew Coffee

You’ll Need

  • 1 cup coarsely ground coffee (or 3 tea bags)
  • 1 litre glass jar
  • Cold, filtered water

Prep and Cook

  • Place the coffee grounds/tea bags in the glass jar and cover with the cold water, filling it to the brim. Cover tightly with a lid and let steep in the fridge for 12 to 24 hours.
  • Place a coffee filter in a fine-mesh sieve over another jar or bowl and strain the coffee grounds/tea bags. Wash the original jar well to remove the leftover sediment and return the strained concentrate to the vessel.
  • Store in the fridge for up to one week. To make iced coffee or tea, pour equal parts of the coffee/tea concentrate and water into an ice-filled glass. Add milk or cream and liquid sweetener (agave, honey, or maple syrup as granulated sugar won’t dissolve in the cold liquid), if desired.
