Friday Night Fever

So you think you can’€™t dance? We’€™re sure you can’€”after hitting one of the Friday night dance parties at Alberta Dancesport.
Whether you’€™re looking for a night out with the girls, a chance to try something new on date night or you just want to get your groove on, Alberta Dancesport’€™s Friday night dance parties are designed for dancers of all levels’€”no experience required. Owned and operated by So You Think You Can Dance choreographers Eric Caty and Kelly Lannan, the popular Friday nights were created as a way to introduce people to the love of dancing in a social setting that eliminates the pressure of learning one specific discipline.

The evenings begin at 8:15 pm with a themed dance lesson (think salsa, tango, waltz, foxtrot, merengue, swing, line dancing and more’€”which changes every week). After the hour-long workshop, the party begins’€”and continues until midnight. Located at Vecova in the North West, the $7 dance lessons are open to partners (read: date night), friends (read: GNO) or singles (read: make new friends).

It’€™s pretty cold out there. We think it’€™s time to turn the heat up inside’€”and shake it.
