What to Do in Ottawa

You’re close to the finish line and you’re doing a great job, but soon it will all be over and you’re looking at two weeks of entertaining the kids at home. You may not have thought about that yet, but don’t worry, we have.

Once the novelty of hanging around in your pyjamas has worn off, you’ll find this quintessential list of The Best Places to Take the Kids in Ottawa to be your new bible. It’s a round up of all our favourite picks and places to take the kiddos that we’ve featured over the years. Just for you.

Our very own Ottawa Savvy Scribe shared her favourite places to go with the kids (and she should know).

Lynn Jatana tops her hit list with the Rink of Dreams, the gorgeous outdoor skating rink at City Hall. Smooth ice, lovely location, and best of all, nearby BeaverTails make it the perfect nostalgic holiday outing. The heated changing facility is open from 8 am–11 pm, allowing for a fun (and less crowded) morning skate, or a beautifully lit evening skate. Don’t forget your helmets!

She’ll also be taking her kids to the Kanata Theatre. Each year the theatre puts on a dazzling, adventurous, family-friendly musical at the end of December. This year’s show is Yo, Vikings!, based on the popular (and funny!) kids’ book by Judith Byron Schachner.

Don’t miss the rest of our 13 Best Places to Take the Kids in Ottawa.
