How Sweet It Is

Life is sweet, isn’t it? And it doesn’t get any sweeter than at Easter time. Some of us attend Easter services, some decorate and hide eggs, and many of us happily use Easter as an excuse to eat a lot of chocolate. Regardless of how we celebrate, it is a great time to establish some new family traditions.
Here are a few of the things we have planned for Easter weekend:

Easter at the Billings Estate National Historic Site
Scour the grounds looking for Easter eggs, make traditional holiday crafts, and tour the house to learn about spring at the Estate. Saturday March 22 from noon to 4 pm.

Canadian Children’s Museum “Hop into Spring” Workshop
It’s Easter fun for the whole family. Help the Easter Bunny find his missing golden eggs and make chocolates. Hop over to the theatre for an interactive storytelling performance. Check the website for workshops dates and times.

Easter Activities at Fulton’s
This is the time of year we start thinking about pancakes and maple syrup. It can’t be helped. The snow starts to melt, the sun starts to shine…we Ottawans can practically smell the sap. Located on 400 acres of forest, Fulton’s offers a little something for everyone: self-guided trails (which can be wet, so dress for the season), horse-drawn rides, a restaurant, and a “maple shoppe”.
