Foodie Fun for the Whole Family

Big Crow

Just because we come with a bit of baggage in tow doesn’t mean that we aren’t clamouring to dine at the new hot spots in the city. The trick is finding those that the kiddos enjoy too, thus keeping meal times a family affair. We’ve sourced the coolest new places where the kids will be welcome and happy, not disdained.

At the Big Crow—the backyard spot behind Rose and Sons in the Annex—they’re serving up some awesome Algonquin Park-inspired barbeque. We like the variety—not just in food—but in the serving sizes. There’s small plates and big plates, though we think a hungry kid could make a meal of their salads: grilled corn salad, potato salad and fruit salad with yogurt will hit all the food groups. Meanwhile, the adults can dig into ribs and chicken galore. A PB&J ice cream sandwich for dessert will end things nicely.

We’ve got more new and hip spots to take the kids, like Barque and El Catrin. Check out all our recommendations for Great Family Restaurants in TO.
