Walk So Kids Can Talk

Sometimes kids find themselves in tough situations no matter how hard we work at keeping them safe and sheltered.
Kids Help Phone knows this. That’s why they have professional counsellors who are trained to ask the right questions 24 hours a day, seven days a week. They empower young people by giving them the tools to make healthy choices and decisions, and connecting them to resources in their own communities.

In 2008, Kids Help Phone counsellors helped kids from almost 3,000 communities more than 2.2 million times on the phone and online.

Kids today are dealing with challenges and experiences that previous generations couldn’t even imagine. It can be hard to know how to help when young people come to you looking for support on an issue you don’t fully understand. That’s why it’s reassuring to know that Kids Help Phone is always open. For the past 20 years, Kids Help Phone’s counsellors have been talking to kids about every issue imaginable—from school or family problems, to bullying, depression and suicide.

The Walk for Kids Help Phone is the most important fundraiser of the year for Kids Help Phone. Every dollar raised allows Kids Help Phone to provide help and hope to kids in communities across Canada. Since 2002, the Walk for Kids Help Phone has raised over $12 million. This year’s goal is $3 million.

You can help kids in your community too. Get your family out and come walk with us on Sunday, May 3.
