If you’re like me, you’ve probably spent more time than you’d like to admit researching and trying out sippy cups in an attempt to finally find the one that can withstand your kiddo’s seemingly endless quest to make a mess on your newly washed kitchen floor. If so, have I got a gift for you! With the help of the experts (my fellow parents who know the sippy struggle), I’ve rounded up the ten best sippy cups out there based on factors like price, durability, ease of use and (of course) “spill-proofness”.

Both of my kids love this cup. It’s easy to hold and drink out of due to its 360-degree design which allows them to take a sip from any part of the lid. The dentist-recommended spoutless lid mimics that of a “big kid” cup and helps little ones practice drinking with minimal spills or mess. While the cup won’t leak from being tipped on its side, making it the perfect cup to throw in your bag as you head out the door, it will splash a little if your little one decides to throw it from the high chair (and you know they will). My toddler somehow came home with this cup from daycare one day, and I’ll be honest – I kind of didn’t want to send it back, even though it wasn’t his. I had never seen a cup with a weighted straw before, but I loved the way it helped my little guy to drink up everything without any leftovers. It was easy for him to use since the weighted ball at the bottom of the straw moved to the liquid. I found the cup to be leak proof, except when it was dropped (or thrown) on the ground by my active little guy. Some parents have recommended buying the special straw cleaner to ensure that the straw is fully cleaned if you decide to fill it with milk, but I didn’t have issues cleaning it without. In case you’re wondering, I did send the cup back to daycare, but not before I ordered one of my own online.

Sippy cups are kind of like socks in the dryer. No matter how hard you try, when you go to pull one out of the drawer, pieces always seem to be missing – and that’s if you don’t end up losing the entire thing altogether. The great thing about Take & Toss cups is that when your kid does forget their cup somewhere in the course of their busy day, it’s not the end of the world because they’re so dang cheap. Better still is the fact that if you misplace a lid, they’re totally interchangeable, so the rest of the cup doesn’t go to waste.
As your kids get older, they can even use the base of the cup without the lid (if you’re brave enough to let them). Of all of the recommendations I received for great sippy cups, this was the one I got most often. Technically this is a water bottle, recommended for kids 3 and up, but tons of caregivers have agreed that younger kids do great with this bottle, once they figure out the fun pop up straw feature. Simply press the button on the side of the lid, and the spout pops up, and once they’re done, they can tuck it back in to keep their drink germ-free! The straw has a special tether which prevents it from getting lost during cleaning, and the bottle is top-rack dishwasher safe. This is a great option for kids on the go because it’s both leak-proof and durable!

If your kitchen cupboard is like mine and looks like a sippy cup factory exploded inside of it, you might be wondering if there’s another option out there as far as children’s drink receptacles are concerned.
