Last-Minute Toronto Summer Camps You Can Still Book for 2019

Still booking summer camps? No problem. We all know the early bird catches the worm, but things happen, and we don’t judge—instead, we provide solutions.

In Toronto, we are lucky to have an abundance of options, meaning many summer day camp sessions are still available.

All the camps listed here have availability for summer 2019, as of this writing. That said, some weeks are waitlisted and sessions are filling up quickly, so if you see something your child will love, be sure to snag it!

Artistic kids can get into a week of ceramics, musical theatre, improv, dance, circus skills, and more.

Gardiner Museum

DOWNTOWN • Ages 6–14
This ceramics and arts camps for kids includes morning, afternoon, or full-day options. Kids can get their hands dirty and learn new ways to express their creativity under the guidance of professional ceramic artists, or take part in a whole range of art-focused activities, including in-gallery scavenger hunts, behind-the-scenes tours, and field trips to neighbouring museums. LESLIEVILLE • Ages 4 and up
From aerial intensives to dance performance camps, learn styles and unlock your dancer’s creativity or send them for an intensive to push their limits. All camps include ballet, hip-hop, modern/contemporary, jazz/acro, silks, and more. Learn more.

The Second City

DOWNTOWN • Ages 7–17
How fun does a comedy camp sound? Kids learn improv and play theatre games at the iconic Second City Theatre. Teachers help kids enhance communication skills, confidence, teamwork, and creativity. Learn more.

Great Big Theatre Company

GBTC’s experienced staff introduce kids to stage performance and guide them toward self-expression. Plays, musical theatre, theatre games, mime, improv, costumes, storytelling, stagecraft and more, with an end-of-week performance. Learn more.

NORTH YORK • Ages 7–14
Creative Writing and Drama camps offer an engaging week of creativity. In the morning, kids create and publish their own books. In the afternoon, it’s drama time, with storytelling, detective games, and improv. Learn more.

WEST END • Grades 1–8 (as of fall 2019)
Sign up your aspiring Broadway star for triple-threat camps combining dance, acting, and music in The Annex. The last day of camp is an onstage performance. Learn more.

Get hands-on with science and technology at these summer camps that make learning fun.


NORTH YORK • Ages 7–14
These fun, hands-on science and technology camps take place at more than 25 locations in Toronto and the GTA in summer 2019. Each week has a theme: Star Wars, Transformers, Minecraft, or superheroes. As a non-profit, STEM Camp offers lower-than-average camp costs, with sessions from $210/week. Learn more.

Ontario Science Centre

Train like an astronaut, make some waves, or prototype your own Science Centre exhibit—space is still available in select camps, including Making Waves, the science waves—from surf to sound to microwaves. Learn more.


WEST END • Grades 1–8
Robotics, Minecraft, video-game design, and a “sampler” camp where kids are kids work on a variety of projects introducing coding, robotics, 3D design are scheduled for 2019. Only one camp for Grades 1-2 is still open at this writing. Learn more.

This huge indoor sports centre near the DVP and 401 intersection has coed sports camps weekly from July 2 through August 9. Choose either the multi-sport camp, with soccer, basketball, volleyball, and flag football (ages 6–14) or the specialty Basketball Boot Camp (ages 6–18). Learn more.

NORTH YORK • Ages 7–15
