Where to Get Your Gears

We were all grateful for the recent rain reprieve over the Easter long weekend. There was just enough sun to convince us to switch from skis to bikes. Here’s where to go to get the gear this year.
For quality gear and great service, go to West 10th Avenue in Point Grey Village. The Bike Gallery caters to the full gamut of kids’ cycling, offering everything from run bikes to gear bikes. And rumour has it that many Canuck players get their families kitted out here (store owner Stephen Kim is a huge fan and was recently featured on Canuck TV). So, you might get lucky and score an autograph for little Johnny while you’re there. If you want a deal, check out The Bike Gallery’s new online store.

Obsession: BikesAnother hot spot is Obsession: Bikes on Lonsdale at First Street in North Vancouver. Like The Bike Gallery, they offer a full line of kids’ bikes but we like the buy-back program to make purchasing bikes for your ever growing child a little more economical. We also like that Obsession: Bikes recognizes that not all kids can afford a new bike, and with their Bikes for Tykes program, they recondition used bikes and then donate them to local non-profit organizations who in turn get them to the kids who need them most.

So no need to spin your wheels wondering where to go. Now you’ve got the savvy scoop on all we know. Here are the rest of our 8 Best Bike Shops in Vancouver.
