What’s New with Nintendo this Season: Fun Gamer Gifts for Kids

Nintendo-gifts

Nintendo is, and always has been, a classic. So, if you’ve got a little gamer in your home, you’re both going to love what Nintendo’s got in store this holiday season. You can get all nostalgic and wax poetically about Super Mario, Princess Peach, Legend of Zelda and the glory days of learning what “up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A” meant. And your kid can get new systems and games to enjoy. Win-win!

Here’s what’s new with Nintendo for this holiday.

The New Nintendo 2DS XL

This is the perfect entry-level personal system for your littlest of gamers. It’s got a great screen size while remaining a lightweight handheld. And it comes with Mario Kart 7 pre-installed! Nice. I remember loving characters like Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach as a kid. Now, your little ones can play them too, along with Pikachu (if they can get it out of your hands, that is!)

The nice thing is, this system comes at a great price for those of us not quite ready to dive into the more expensive tech territory.

Nintendo Selects

Once you get the system, you can add a few Nintendo Selects, which are games that feature classic characters from our youth (hello, Super Mario, Yoshi and Legend of Zelda!) as well as other favourites like Pokémon, Kirby and more. There’s even Donkey Kong, Yoshi and Nintendogs puppies and kittens. That’s right: Puppies and kittens. Plus, they’re also available at a great price for just 30 bucks each.

Nintendo 2DS

Another great portable gaming system for your youngest gamers, this personal system comes at an even cheaper price point (at just $110) and comes pre-installed with Super Mario Bros. 2. The screen is smaller than the 2DS XL, but it’s also a great, lightweight handheld system perfect for little hands.

Luigi’s Mansion

This looks fun! It’s new for 2018 and available on the 3DS system. Your kids can help Luigi survive in a haunted house, solve some petrifying puzzles and try to rescue Mario.
