Out-of-the-Box Halloween Treats

Halloween Treats2

Every year when Halloween rolls around, I tend to let my kids have their treats and eat them too. It only happens once a year, after all. Yet, at the same time, I love it when they get a little variety in their Halloween bags, so I’ve started looking for some alternative options to the same old chocolate bars and chips to hand out.

If you’re looking for new ideas too, here are a few out-of-the-box Halloween treats that won’t disappoint. (Hint: No mention of little boxes of raisins here!)

Bubbles

Every kid goes nuts for bubbles—so this option will go over well with your crowd of trick-or-treaters. You can pick them up at the dollar store and either package them with something else (like stickers) or toss into the bag on their own. Either way, they’re sure to be a hit!

Pretzels

Salty and crunchy—pretzels are a great alternative to chips that kids will be as pleased as punch to get in their Halloween bags. And you can even send them off to school the next day with a little hummus for dipping.

Welch’s Fruit Snacks

These little bags of deliciousness are perfect for handing out as treats, and your kids will never know that fruit is the first ingredient! They’re really yummy, preservative-free and loved by kids and parents (so you might want to snag a bag or two for yourself!)

Spooky School Supplies

Lots of little ones still go crazy over anything spooky, like erasers in the shape of witches and mummies or pencils covered with black cats. The more festive, the better.

Bouncy Balls

Another easy dollar-store find that can double as a Halloween treat! Bouncy balls are fun little toys that kids seem to love all year round.

Temporary Tattoos

Definitely a crowd-pleaser, kids tend to love plastering themselves with temporary tattoos. These are great because they’re inexpensive and are widely available in Halloween themes this time of year.

Hot Chocolate Packets

What better way to warm up after a night of trick-or-treating than with a steamy mug of hot chocolate? If you’re feeling extra generous, toss a few marshmallows in there, too!

Happy Halloween!
