Open Door, See Food

Open the door, Look inside,
Check the crisper,
And what do you find?

If you’re gazing at mouldy grapes, flexible carrots or nothing at all, the situation may be worse than you thought.

Your kids may appear to thrive on love and air, but they also need nutritious food—and cooking healthy meals is only half the battle. Hunting down and bringing home the groceries is the other half.

Luckily for you, several area farms now deliver fresh, organic produce and other foods directly to your door weekly—and the time to sign up is now, as the growing season swings into full gear.

An organic mixed vegetable box from Spencerville’s Aubin Farm, delivered to your door from May to September, will set you back just $30 a week. Regular customers can add other items to their boxes for an extra fee—choose from grass-fed beef and lamb, free-range chickens and turkeys, farm-fresh eggs, seasonal flowers and roses, homemade chutneys, relishes, jams and pickles, authentic Indian cuisine cooked to order, and even woollen blankets made from the farm’s own fleece.
