Sometimes the simple pleasures are best.
Take the pure satisfaction of a perfectly crafted sandwich, complete with melt-in-your-mouth fries and crispy salad offered by our new favourite Midtown hangout, Sandoozles. The name denotes their specialty—sandwiches—and the kiddos will go crazy for the artisanal grilled cheese and the mac and cheese appetizer. We’re more swayed by the Texas smoked brisket or pulled chicken varieties (made with local preservative- and antibiotic-free meats), both of which have us asking PB and what?
And should there be a dessert-sized space left in the bellies, then meander down to the new 100% nut-free Tori and Cates cupcake shop, where they know that sometimes we have ‘high maintenance’ orders (gluten-free, diabetic, vegan and parve varieties are available). The kids love the fairytale look of the store and we love the weekly specials (Toonie Tuesday, anyone?). Because we’ve tried to break up with cupcakes before, but we just come running back for that mouthfeel of creamy frosting and buttery crumbs.
No fuss, no muss, just good eats.
