Morning Saving Smoothie


Being a mom of four, one thing I don’t have a lot of time for is eating. Mornings are hectic, lunch “breaks” are non-existent and dinner is often spent begging tiny tyrants to eat. There was a time when it wouldn’t have been unusual for me to completely skip meals. But one thing I have learned is that I can’t pour from an empty cup, and taking care of and feeding myself can’t be the last priority. However, that doesn’t change the lack of time and over the years I have learned to be very creative with my meals. The biggest challenge for me during the day is breakfast. Between wake-up and bus-pick up we have 60 minutes of chaos, and there is no chance for me to sit down and eat. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day though, so one of my favorite meals is a simple oatmeal smoothie.
