Fun Ways to Celebrate Father’s Day in Vancouver

SavvyMom Father's Day in Vancouver

We’re not entirely sure how Mother’s Day is synonymous with flowers and brunch and Father’s Day brings to mind socks or ties… maybe a barbeque if you’re feeling adventurous? But dads deserve special attention too, even if they claim not to care.

Besides these top notch Father’s Day gift ideas, June’s good weather almost demands a fun outing or event to celebrate dad. Here are some fun ways to celebrate Father’s Day in Vancouver and nearby.

Dad will surely approve!

Vancouver Picnic Spots

Pack a Picnic

Picnic foods are delicious and easy, and planning a picnic in the park is much more relaxed (and more socially distant!) than having a fancy dinner at home. Enjoy the nicer weather and plan for a meal al fresco at one of these great parks for a picnic in Vancouver.

Break for Brunch

Mom doesn’t have the the only occasion worthy of a hearty brunch. While we’re still relegated mostly to takeout, these awesome brunch spots in Vancouver will happily and deliciously scramble an egg or flip a pancake (or both) in dad’s honour. Better yet, grab your supplies, grab your takeout, and hit the park for a takeout brunch picnic; no mushy watermelon need apply.

Feeling ambitious? If the way to man’s heart is through his stomach, we’ve got you covered. Whipping up any (or all!) of these five recipes for Father’s Day will guarantee a memorable meal and memories made in the making of it, too.

Calgary Bike Trails

Hop on!

A bike ride is an adventure best shared with a loved one. And who better to share that adventure with than the guy who’s likely had his share of putting on and taking off training wheels. Planning a family bike ride on one of Vancouver’s great bike paths for families will put smiles on your (and Dad’s) face and also help to work off all of your various brunches and picnic feasts.

Strawberry Picking Ottawa

Berry Picking

The timing couldn’t be better for heading out berry picking. Most u-pick berry farms are open for the season with Covid-19 regulations and protocols in place. Probably best to reserve your spot in advance at one of these Vancouver berry picking farms.

Father's Day in Vancouver - Burnaby Village Museum

Burnaby Village Museum

Burnaby Village Museum has opened for the season and admission all summer is free! Dad will enjoy a family stroll through the 1920s village and your family’s favourite exhibits. Is it the Burnaby Lake General Store? The Jesse Love Farmhouse or Wagner’s Blacksmith Shop? What about the Interurban Tram Car? Unfortunately the carousel is closed but you can download a summer scavenger hunt for a self-guided educational adventure throughout the village. Reserve your visit online prior to arriving.
