Keeping It Clean

Suzie, our favourite multitasking mom makes it look easy—but it’s so not easy. She lies awake at night worrying about BPA organic food, local produce, the child with the nut allergy, too much ‘screen time’, Facebook, homework and her own carbon footprint (just to mention a few). She is doing the best job she can, one day at a time.
Suzie’s Challenge this Week
So far, Suzie has been able to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to knowing what the kids are learning. That way she always has a fast comeback when her ‘tween daughter thinks she knows more than her. This week, she has been questioning Suzie on the family’s carbon footprint and giving her a hard time about their consumption in general.

What Does Suzie Do?
She reminds the kids of all the choices their family makes in order to reduce their impact on the environment—and on their wallets. They recycle, they drink from reuseable water bottles (BPA-free of course) instead of bottled water, and she buys locally grown food as much as she can. Suzie even remembers to bring her own bags to the grocery store.

She is proud to share with her daughter that even her Ford Flex, (which has saved her so many times) has an EcoBoost™* engine which provides up to 20% better fuel economy and 15% fewer CO² emissions compared to larger displacement engines. That’s pretty cool. What’s even cooler is that it’s still got more power even though it’s a more fuel efficient engine—that’s not common. To be specific, the EcoBoost™** engine gives Suzie V8 power while burning gas like a V6.

Her son is more interested in that little factoid than her daughter, but as long as they are both happy, she’s happy.
