I don’t like coffee, but you can bet that if I did I would be a regular consumer of fall’s most popular drink: the pumpkin spice latte. Made popular by Starbucks, I’ve seen variations of this hot beverage popping up in every cafe across the city, not to mention the home kitchens of most of my friends.
At five to six dollars a pop, most budgets don’t allow for one of these daily drink indulgences, but that’s okay, because making them at home is pretty easy. I like to start with a simple pumpkin syrup which can be poured into coffee, espresso, tea and hot chocolate or even infused into a mug of warm milk. The flavour combinations are endless, but the results are the same: a homemade pumpkin spice drink that will cost you only pennies to make.
