Know Norah

It’s easy to lose track of who’s hot in the music industry these days—especially when we find ourselved humming along to “Wheels on the Bus” (even though you vowed you would never allow it in your car) half the time. But most moms will agree that Norah Jones has been a shining example of the simple fact that “real” music is still being made by real artists, whose writings can stir your soul.
Remember that day, back in 2002, when you heard your first Norah Jones song. Then try to remember how many times you played “Come Away with Me” over and over and over again. Our guess is that most of those times you were looking for a way to unwind and relax. Right?

In the 2007 mom world, words like “unwind” and “relax” do not come often or easily. That’s why when those rare and special moments hit, they need to be accompanied by just the right music. Norah has come to our rescue again with her latest album (and much anticipated follow-up to 2004’s Feels Like Home) “Not Too Late”, released in January 2007. It hit #1 on CD charts around the world and we know why (back to that relaxing sound we crave). This collection of ballads, jazz and country tinged pop songs is considered Norah’s most personal album to date, as she wrote or co-wrote every song.

In perfect time for Mother’s Day, Norah will be in Toronto May 11 at Massey Hall and in Montreal on May 12 at the St. Denis Theatre.

It’s understandable that you may not have time to seek out what’s hot in music all the time, but it’s a safe bet that the new Norah CD will satisfy you just as much as her first CD did five years ago.
